Harrison Point Lighthouse, St. Lucy - Fresnel Lens

DescriptionThe remaining bits of the Fresnel Lens that used to focus the beam of the lighthouse lamp - the lamp would have been totall enclosed within four of these lenses, and would have rotated to produce the "sweeping" effect of the lighthouse. Harrison Point Lighthouse, St. Lucy

DescriptionPanoramic view from the Cement Plant in Hangman's Bay to Norse's Bay in St. Lucy. The foundation stone was laid in June 1925 and the light was officially lit in April 1926. Also visible is the US Navy listening post / prison. Both now sit abandoned, rusting and vandalized, like so many of our historic buildings. Contact photographer |
