Hawksbill turtle at Six Mens fish market
DescriptionSix Mens is a local fish market just up from Port St Charles marina. While stopping here to drop off some fish the turtles surrounded the boat. While you can swim any day of the week with tame turtles at Paynes Bay, the ones at Six Mens are significantly larger - presumably fed by the fishing boats who come in and throw the remains/guts of their catch overboard. As such, I would recommend keeping your fingers and toes safe, they seemed significantly snappier than the ones down the coast! Contact photographer |
