Taken in Feb 2011 - NIkon D700 and Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 lens

Description

I pass this building all the time and never really look twice at it, until yesterday when I decided to take a few photos of it.

I've just downloaded a trial version of Nik Silver Efex Pro and decided to have a go with it on this photo.

Harrison Point Lighthouse, St. Lucy - Fresnel Lens +

Taken Jan 21, 2011 with a Nikon D700 and Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 lens

Description

The remaining bits of the Fresnel Lens that used to focus the beam of the lighthouse lamp - the lamp would have been totall enclosed within four of these lenses, and would have rotated to produce the "sweeping" effect of the lighthouse.

The other half of the lens enclosure is in pieces on the ground at the base of the lighthouse.
